LINDA ALANIZ

President 

Experience
Linda, originally from Texas, brings years of experience in higher education to her role. Before founding CTC, she served as the Director of the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) at the University of Texas-Brownsville/Texas Southmost College. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (UTB/TSC).

Job Description 

Linda, the founder of the Comprehensive Training Center in 2001, leads the company. Her role involves:

  • Developing and implementing high-level strategies.

  • Making major corporate decisions.

  • Managing overall operations and resources.

  • Serving as the main communication link between the board of directors and corporate operations.

In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Linda collaborates closely with various organizations, such as school districts, charters, colleges, medical institutions, universities, nonprofits, and municipalities. Her aim is to understand their needs and assist them in finding suitable grant opportunities aligned with their goals.

Vice President 

Experience

Lorenzo brings a wealth of valuable experience and a versatile skill set to his role. With over 8 years as Vice President, he has successfully managed staff, maintained business goals, and notably doubled business revenue within the first few years of his tenure.

Chief Financial Officer

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Alonzo is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. Alonzo provides strategic financial leadership, manages financial resources, and guides fiscal decision-making to support the organization's long-term sustainability and success. This role involves a comprehensive understanding of financial management, risk assessment, and compliance, and it plays a central role in shaping the company's financial future.

MAGGIE RODRIGUEZ

Senior Grant Compliance Officer

Maggie has been with CTC since 2008 and, since then, has gained the knowledge and expertise needed to help conduct day-to-day operations. Her tenure at CTC is characterized by her exceptional ability to connect with people and foster strong relationships with clients.

DR. ISRAEL AGUILAR

Grant Compliance Officer

Experience 

Israel's experience and education hold immense value for CTC. He earned a Master's Degree in English at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and later achieved a Doctoral Degree in Education and School Improvement from Texas State University in San Marcos, specializing in education dynamics and pedagogy. These educational milestones have not only enriched his knowledge but have also cultivated a deep-seated commitment to lifelong learning, excellence in education, and the art of language.

  • Assisting with external monitoring preparations and reviewing grant guidelines for contractor/district recommendations.

DR. MARY CURTIS

Grant Evaluation Specialist 

Experience

Dr. Mary Curtis received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago (1993).  She has also earned a Masters in Linguistics (1980) and a Bachelors in German (1979) and Teacher Education from Southern Illinois at Carbondale. Dr. Curtis has lived and worked in numerous countries including Austria, Germany, and Costa Rica where she was partners in a private school.  She comes to CTC after retiring from a full career at the University of Texas at Brownsville, where she trained special education teachers and educational diagnosticians.  At CTC, Dr. Curtis writes grants for non-profit organizations, and supervises the Grant Evaluations Department.

Marketing 

Experience

Dino's experience as a superintendent and retired first sergeant has equipped him with invaluable lifelong skills, including discipline, administration, and the ability to boost morale within teams. When it comes to marketing, he shines with his extensive experience and exceptional communication skills, which are essential for effectively conveying our brand's message and connecting with our audience.

VICKY GUILLEN 

Grant Compliance Officer 

Experience 

Mrs. Vicky Guillen graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in May of 1987, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education. In 1998, she earned a Master of Educational Administration at the University of Texas Pan - Brownsville. After retiring from after 32 successful years as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, Section 504 Administrator and District ARD Administrator, her continued commitment to education led her to her current role, with CTC where she manages grants, ensures compliance, and provides grant guidance to clients.

Vicky's daily tasks cover grant compliance, procurement, and nonprofit management, including:

  • Reviewing grant guidelines for grant-related recommendations.

KIRSTIE RAMIREZ

Federal & State Programs Director

Experience 

Kirstie has plenty experience working with school districts as a Federal Programs Director and has since then decided to join CTC. Kirstie is a very well rounded and knowledgeable  individual who takes the initiative to ensure that her duties are executed properly and efficiently.

KRISTINA UBINA

Accounts Receivable

Experience

Kristina graduated from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in May 2017, earning her Bachelor's in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Her journey with CTC began shortly after graduation, when she joined as a Data and Research Specialist. Over time, her dedication and expertise have led her to her current role, where she skillfully manages Accounts Receivables and oversees the seamless execution of our day-to-day business operations.

Derek has been with CTC since 2022, during which time he has gained expertise in QuickBooks, generating quotes, and providing budget assistance. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley while nearly full-time at CTC, demonstrating a steadfast dedication to both personal and professional development.

MARY LILY GARZA

Grant Compliance Officer

Mary Lily graduated from Baylor University in May of 1994, earning her Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Early Childhood. In 1998, she earned a Master of Educational Administration at the University of Texas Pan - American.  Later, in 2021 earned her Certification in Superintendency. Her journey with CTC began shortly after retiring from education after 32 successful years as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Section 504 Coordinator and Special Education Director. Over time, her expertise and commitment to education have led her to her current role, where she manages grant, ensures compliance and utilizes her extensive qualifications to humbly provide exceptional leadership services.

Jessica has been with CTC for 3 years and has excelled in her current position as a receptionist.
